Testing Facility

GAR operates on a well-established quality management system. The state-of-the-art laboratory established in Muscat is equipped with sophisticated equipment and trained and experienced personnel. The testing unit is capable of handling any type of high performance tests and continuously engages in innovative methods of testing concrete and its constituents. Advanced durability tests on concrete are conducted in-house. These include:

• DIN permeability
• Water absorption
• Initial Surface Absorption Test (ISAT)
• Rapid Chloride Permeability Test (RCPT)

The research and development team are engaged in carrying out conformity tests on freshly received cement and admixtures batches, and referencing them to approved counter samples. Laboratory trials with different combinations of cement contents and cementitious materials are carried out to meet the latest and concrete specifications.

Quality is further reinforced by setting-up laboratories at each batching plant for aggregate and fresh concrete testing.
